SMC Photography: Mike & Shannon's Gender Reveal

My best friend is pregnant! I was DYING to let the cat out of the bag but I didn't. I kept my lips sealed and it was one of the hardest secrets I ever had to keep. But I am so glad I did. Only Mike & Shannon's family knew about the pregnancy (and probably a few close friends) but NOBODY but the ultrasound tech knew the sex of their baby. Mike and Shannon went to their ultrasound on August 12th to find out that the baby was perfectly healthy and that everything was measuring right where it should be. They asked the tech to write down BOY or GIRL with a picture from the ultrasound and seal it in an envelope. Shannon then took that envelope to a cake shop and had the baker make a special cake with colored icing on the inside to indicate whether their little bundle will be a boy or girl. Ok, so the 12th was a Monday, and they didn't have their reveal until the 17th! I don't know how they didn't rip that envelope open before then but kudos to them. It was a fun day and I think everyone enjoyed the suspense. Congratulations to Shannon & Mike, I am sure they are going to be wonderful parents!
